Golden Theatre Journal

Editorial policy

Golden Theatre Journal aims to make its theatre writing clear, fair and worth returning to. We distinguish interpretation from verifiable detail, correct errors openly and identify material created in partnership.

Accuracy and interpretation

We take care with names, dates, quotations and descriptions of theatrical works. When a statement can be checked, we seek a sound basis for it; when a passage offers an interpretation, we present it as a reading rather than an established fact. We do not claim first-hand attendance or access we have not had.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for the reader and the subject, not to secure favourable coverage. A partnership does not buy a review or determine an editorial conclusion. Where a relationship could affect how a piece is understood, we make that connection clear.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the relevant article and the detail in question. We assess correction requests and amend confirmed mistakes, making a clear note when a change materially affects the meaning of a piece.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported content is labelled clearly near the material so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; such images are identified where they appear, and are not presented as documentary photographs.
